Economically priced, the MC-150 has all quality parts which provide excellent tone. Our Maple Classic recently received a rave review from a popular folk magazine in England which explained its incredible tone for the price.
The BG-250 was one of our first instruments ever introduced. Its convertible feature allows a great bluegrass tone, and by removing the resonator and brackets, you now have a genuine old time openback. This is a great feature for players wanting to play both styles. The slim neck provides easy action and the bell brass tone ring contributes to its loud...
The BG-250F is the first professional 5 string banjo in our line. It is a vintage replica of the most famous banjo ever played in bluegrass music. All its parts are accurate reproductions of the original. In addition, we have added a maple neck, which brightens tone compared to the original mahogany necks.
We have had many requests for years from players with larger hands (and fingers) to make a wider neck width under the nut. The BG-250F, a replica of the Scruggs banjo, is now available with a fingerboard width of 1 5/16" and is a standard model now in the Gold Tone line. Also available on custom order is a wider fingerboard on the OB-250.
New improved features for '06! The 2007 OB-250 has been redesigned and now includes maple binding, GT Master Planetary Tuners, 1st fret inlay, One piece curly maple veneer on the resonator, and a new gorgeous tobacco brown finish.
Every player hears astounding tone from this lightweight pro banjo. Almost 4 lbs lighter, its unbelievable volume comes from an intregal 3-ply rock maple lathed tone rim. The top third of the rim is carved exactly like a flat top ring resulting in a very authentic bluegrass tone.
The AT model includes a forty hole sand cast bell brass arch top tone ring. This configuration produces more penetrating highs compared to a conventional flat top. For banjoists who own a flattop, this is a gration addition to their collection as it "cuts through" in bluegrass jams!
